European Union will build Space elevator

April 6, 2010 by NanoBillboard.com

We Europeans must build space elevator first in EU (European Union) before USA. It’s innovative and much much cheaper transportation to space than conventional unreliable rockets. When we build it, we will dominate the space and collonise the moon and Mars. Ribbon is build from supermaterial called nanotubes – atomically precise tubes, which weigh less and are 50 times stronger than steel. Space elevator will make it possible for everybody to get into the space. Based on european research of nanotechnology and testing in Germany. Is the music from the old dune game? btw love the video bud ^^

    @jeneric234

    NOBODY has a space elevator planned.

    I am amazed at the ignorance people have with regard to science.

  3. NoobSnoopy says:

    oh come on just try to build better and cheaper space ships and colonize place like Moon use solar panels as the energysources and then build massive ordital shipyards

    (there is a space elevator in Halo lol?)

    @aaron2009time
    IF this type of elevator would be built, why not build a construction yard in the GEO end of it? like, instead of taking the train to the international airport, you take the elevator to the interplanetary space port.

  5. jeneric234 says:

    roflmao we use already got a elevator to space planned

  6. TheDeadBranch says:

    not safe

    god damn, shut your mouth if your are just going to try to reason through costs when you are clearly under-qualified to make any decision in the matter. Elevator costs are estimated around 6-10Billion USD, which would definitely cost a bunch, but you would not have to pay for fuel, rockets, and just concentrate on building interplanetary vehicles. The first country to construct an elevator will have an absolute monopoly on space operations for quite a long time.

    The maintenance on this would be relitivly simple, and its also much cooler concept. Imagine standing, looking out a window to see the earth falling away from you’re feet slowly but steadly.

  9. aaron2009time says:

    @OriginalSamsquatch but it would be a waste of money over-all, seeing as the elevator can only carry a certain point, all people can do from there is look out of it, nobody cud get to different planets from an elevator.

  10. Akip3211 says:

    space tourism would be a huge industry I’d love to go to space

  11. MatejTomcik says:

    Bullshit.

  12. OriginalSamsquatch says:

    But wud do you know? Rockets cost a lot of money to launch about $10,000/Kg on average. Elevator- around $220/Kg thats a big diference. There are cheaper rockets out there but they can’t lift people or large payloads. Why are people always saying “but its to f*^&# space there’s nothing up there”?

  13. refresh967 says:

    @aaron2009time LOL kid you have such a bold way of speaking LMAO!

  14. aaron2009time says:

    no, but y would they build an elevator to a certain point in space when they can easily get to that distance in a rocket

  15. OriginalSamsquatch says:

    elevator to space cheap way to get into orbit to launch satellites. the big economic prospect would be asteroid mining lots of big rocks out there have enough resources to keep mankind’s appetite for metals satisfied.

  16. Indubitabil02 says:

    What’s with this stupid title? There is no official EU statement about such a thing, so why do you say “WILL build”? Anyway space exploration should be a venture for all human kind, there are no political borders up there.

  17. aaron2009time says:

    whats the point of bilding an ‘elevator to space’??? its not gonna lead anywhere? the european union wouldnt just waist there money like that. i know this video is a load of bullshit

  18. 1ChinchillaBoy1 says:

    There are just too many thigns that could go wrong…

  19. LOidos2000 says:

    @thest3alth yeah, ok :P

  20. thest3alth says:

    Air resistance, don’t you cover that in basic science? Lol.

    Air resistance is when something moves slower because the air particles is in the way. Similar to water resistance, it’s harder to walk through water, and it’s a little harder through air too.

  21. LOidos2000 says:

    @thest3alth I don’t get what you mean.
    But if you mean that the elevator cannot be build cuz those oxygen etc…

    The humans will make air in there, or convert it from the Earth ;)

    Lol, sounds like a sci – fi game we are talkin about XD

  22. deadman118 says:

    Two? words… Geostationary Orbit

  23. thest3alth says:

    The centre of the galaxy has a supermassive black hole coating the surrounding planets in harmful radiation.

  24. thest3alth says:

    There is no air resistance in space dummy.
